Do YOU need to calm it down?
How can YOU be fearless today when fear and powerlessness are overwhelming you?
Here’s how I do it…
My first reaction was disbelief. “Is this real? How could this be real? Could the world really be shutting down?” Then I would say, “This cannot be real. This is impossible.”
Next, I felt angry. “It’s up to me to decide whether or not to go out of my house!”
After that, overwhelming feelings of anxiety and fear, with an inability to concentrate set in. Thoughts cycled, “If this really is this bad, will I lose my older friends and family that I love so much?”
Sadness began to intertwine with fear and anger from the moment I awoke… that is, if I slept. I felt powerless because I wanted to DO something, but I couldn’t even go near the people I love to offer my assistance.
I realized that LIFE IN QUARANTINE would potentially end up wasted energy and time: A LOSS OF LIVING
I Finally Decided to Be Fearless Today. The #1 Thing was to Change My Words

I stopped saying, “STAY SAFE!“
Words are powerful and they can create feelings. How do YOU feel when you hear “Stay Safe”?
Don’t those words make you feel reactive as if you need to crouch with fear, or maybe even hide?
I know that fear has its place and can help with survival. Nonetheless, I decided to make a commitment to be DONE with fear during this quarantine.
I was able to find my peace of mind, happy feelings, and restful sleep once more. I want YOU to be in a better state of mind, too. It’s essential to your health and that of everyone around you!

The words “Stay Healthy” changed everything for me and I hope they help YOU, too.
The thought of staying healthy allows you to TAKE ACTION. You can proactively focus on good health and a strong immune system. You can level up with healthier foods and grant yourself another ½ hour of sleep. You can exercise at home or walk outside to get fresh air more often or for longer periods than you did before.
Now, I say, “I WILL do my best to STAY HEALTHY.“
If I feel fear, I immediately stomp it out.
I stopped the negative waste of emotional energy by engaging the rational part of my brain. A roller coaster of emotions wastes energy and is bad for health.
Once I made my attitude adjustment, I planted an extra garden square so I can offer fresh vegetables to other people this year, too.
I became intentional in the thoughts and internal dialogue I allowed.
- I stopped allowing thoughts that everyone around me would die… and maybe myself.
- I changed my inner dialogue from “I’m scared” to “I’m calm.”
- I brought myself to the present moment, “I’m alive and well now… and now… and now.”
I turned off the news and this made a HUGE difference for me.
- I realized that the news was creating more fear than anything else, so I kept it away.
- I decided to look at stats occasionally without reading the narrative.
- If I went online, I opted for videos on gardening, meditation, exercise, and anything healthy as a replacement.
- I took ACTION with projects, learning, and creativity.
I Choose ACTION
Dale Carnegie taught, “Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage.”
DO something. I’m not asking you to do something stupid. I’m asking you to do something. Expend anxious energy by moving your body and engaging your brain. Be the Light to your friends and the people around you by offering an uplifting phone call. Help yourself feel more in control.
Here’s a good example. Bob walks his dog daily. Returning to walking his dog after he had taken a serious fall was an act of courage on his part. Many people are crippled by fear and become inactive after a fall which actually increases the chance of another fall. Since Bob makes himself get out for his daily walks, he sees people he knows and still feels active and confident today.
I Choose to be HAPPY
I choose to be HAPPY because I don’t want to live in fear.
Happiness and fear can’t BOTH fit into the brain at the same time… so intentionally pick the healthy option!
Get outside as much as possible. Get fresh air. Get grounded. Today, as you take in a sunrise or sunset, notice new blooms outside, or watch the clouds go by, you’ll be reminded that the natural world really is normal still.
The past is behind, the future is only in the imagination.
All we have is this present moment so imagine the world a good place to live and find ways to live life fully without fear!
YOU CAN DO THIS! Give yourself a break and be fearless today!
