Novels Based in Put-in-Bay, Ohio
Chances are you’re already familiar with some of the characters and locations in Bob Adamov’s books!
This award-winning island author is in the process of writing his 14th mystery adventure novel and all 14 books involve Lake Erie’s action-packed summer vacation destination, Put-in-Bay (South Bass Island). Real-life characters, like the notorious Mad Dog Mike Adams from the Round House Bar, makes these books especially hard to put down.
Always filled with travel and adventure, each book includes an investigative reporter named Emerson Moore as the main character who gets himself into and out of trouble again and again.
Clive Cussler Fans Love His Style
Bob says he has always emulated the writing style of his favorite author Clive Cussler, and he’s happy to have become acquainted with him in person. In fact, Bob has been invited to speak at the Clive Cussler Collectors Convention in previous years.
Inspiration to Other Writers
Other writers find Bob Adamov as an inspiration. Bob didn’t begin writing his first book until age 51. Now 70 years old, he says he’ll never completely retire because he’s too high energy.
Bob explains that he writes for a “season” each summer. The rest of the year, he works on his edits, details for publishing his next book, and markets himself and his books at expos and conferences. Bob encourages writers to never quit. Just keep writing and perfecting your skills as he has done. “It’s never too late.”
The Secret to Aging Gracefully
Bob affirms that the secret to aging gracefully is a positive attitude. He credits his mentors and his mom for the growth of his integrity and attitude toward positively impacting others as often as possible.

Yes, Kathryn, I really enjoyed this interview with Bob Adamov, and I hope sometime he does come to our writer’s group. I look forward to meeting him. Thanks so much.
I really enjoyed your interview with Bob Adamov. It was interesting to hear about his background. I also attended Kent State University in 1970. However, I was an education major and may have attended some of his classes. As we retire there are so many opportunities in life. I personally would like to do some traveling. Before I get too old, I would love to visit some places in the U. S. that I have read and heard are scenic and interesting. Hope to do this soon.
I hope to organize some travel opportunities, Eleanor! Wouldn’t it be fun!?
That’s a GREAT idea!
