Glenn Blair Makes People Feel Valued And Valuable
Glenn Blair believes that every person has value, however, people don’t always recognize their value. And Glenn is absolutely certain that every person can make someone else feel valued if they set out to do so.
With two amazing careers behind him, Glenn enjoys making people feel good by writing thank you notes. In fact, he challenged himself to write a thank you note daily for one full year. He admits that it made him feel as good as the recipient!

Glenn’s Thank YOU Method
Glenn starts with a ½ sheet of paper with the words “Thank You” at the top of the page. He types 2 -3 paragraphs detailing his gratitude and off it goes in the mail!
Glenn Blair’s Categories
- Regular Thank You – What you might regularly give or receive after a gift of some sort
- Famous/Celeb Thank You – Not just for their career but something remarkable and extra. As an example, George Clooney is a talented (and extremely handsome actor), but in addition to that, he has raised over one million dollars to fight hate crimes.
- Newspaper/TV Mentions Thank You – Someone you don’t know, but you learn about something extraordinary he or she has done. It could be in your own town or anywhere.
- People You Know Thank You – This would be someone you know or knew, but never thanked. You recall their kindness or how they had impacted your life.
The Glenn Blair Attitude
You’ll enjoy his contagious positive attitude and good looks (he’s a model!) along with his optimism about growing older, even after suffering the loss of his beloved wife.

Professor Blair was the best professor I ever had! Every class was a joy. He has the best stories and the warmest heart. I’m so glad I was able to have him as a professor. Fabulous interview. It was great to hear his voice and see him again!
Love the birthday tribute to Glen. Your interview with him about “thank you’s” is so inspirational, how can I help saying thank you. Thank you for posting this.
Hi Julie, thank you for your comment! He’s an inspirational man, for sure!
Oh my, how I enjoyed this interview! I did remember that Glenn Blair being a Professor at B-W, my alma mater. How wonderful he inspires all of us. A marvelous life, well lived… but simply Love thank you note project …I, too, try to write notes to people that touch my life.
One I wrote was the Head of the Education Dept at B-W who had been my college advisor…and I heard back from her and she had many kind things to share. It made my day, and good to pass it on…
And in essence, pay it forward.

I have been blessed to know Glenn Blair for my entire life, and for a brief time he was my college professor. He is an inspiration in every sense of the word. He is a man who sees only possibilities, and who breathes in human experience like air. He has made a tremendously positive impact upon me through his living example, and he continues to do so. I wish the best of everything for Mr. Blair, and I appreciate the meaningful and ongoing contribution he makes to our world.

Glenn our friendship goes back to 1958-59 when we served the U.S. Army at Ft. Belvoir. We along with Bob Kennedy became life long friends. After we were discharged we both ended up in Cleveland. I remember our playing on the same basketball team several times. The marathon bad mitten contests in our back yard. Watching Ohio State Buckeyes and their excellent teams as they mowed down Big Ten opponents at our house. How you treated our oldest daughter, Robin, and my wife Bobbie. The night you took me to the hospital to get 27 sticthes over my eye after a fall on the basketball court. And last but not least our 2018 reunion in Cleveland and Youngstown with you and Bob Kennedy. You will always be counted among my valued friends.
thank you for your comment, Bill! I’ll make sure Glenn knows you’ve made this comment. Lifelong friendships are the best!
I continue to be grateful for my friendship with Glenn! I thought I knew all of his intriguing life stories, but learned a few more watching the video. 🙂 But Glenn, you left out the master’s high jump score! (perhaps it was included at the end…the video stopped advancing on my computer). Delightful segment!
Yes, we did leave out the high jump! Glenn and I talked about that afterward. Thank you for your nice comment!
Gleen,as I always spelled it. enjoyed the video bob k sent me. Glad you are doing so well and enjoyed your two careers. I want to thank you for being a good us army buddy during our time at Ft Belvoir on the porch and the pizza times at Mikes. The “Babe” and I are still here in Post,Tx on the farm, both healthy and still traveling as much as we can. Again thanks for being a good friend during my US Army days. Walt “Tex” Didway
I made sure your friend, Glenn, saw your fun comment!
Glenn was a fraternity brother of my late ex-husband and friend Bob, so I have known Glenn for a long time. I still remember the letter he wrote to us when we were expecting our first child to tell him/her how lucky they were to have us as parents, be born in the United States and during a very wonderful era (although he did a much better job of expressing himself). Thanks for your impressive stories and keep up the good work!
What a great story! thank you for sharing, Amy!
What an incredibly uplifting and inspiring interview. My parents are close friends of Glenn, with my father also having worked for Sohio. Over the years I’ve heard them speak so highly of Glenn and Mim. Now to hear this terrific interview with Kathryn has been nothing short of amazing. Thank you both for making a difference.
Thank you for your comment, Ken. So glad you enjoyed!
What an amazing man I enjoyed the program so much he makes you want to go there and conquer the work no matter what you are. You do such a good job Kathryn enjoy all your programs.
Thank you, Pat! I agree he is amazing and a great example for us!
I had the good fortune to meet and get to know Glenn back when we were in our early 20’s and had both been ‘drafted’ into the Army. We spent about 20 months together at Ft. Belvoir in Virginia where we became good friends and remain so to this day. At that time we were all young and handsome, none more so than Glenn. He was also the bright, witty and clever Johnny Carson type of our gang. Over the years he has honed those skills and remains a great guy to know and be around.
