Happiness is contagious, and it’s HEALTHY for us, too!
Happiness is spread exponentially as it’s transmitted simply through our smiles!
If you watch something funny, you’ll smile; listen to a joke, you’ll smile. Forward the jokes to your family and friends, smiles continue to spread.
Why spread laughter and happiness at a time like this?
Let me ask, “Why would you NOT do that?”
Whether you realize it or not, you have a choice today. You can sit in fear, which is a sickness in itself, or you can put your energy into action.
This can be YOUR time to shine more brightly.
What can YOU do at a time like this? YOU CAN DO A LOT!
Every day brings challenges that develop your inner strengths, but today you’ve been afforded an opportunity to be your very best self!
Choose happiness and let it be contagious!
Happiness and fear CAN’T FIT TOGETHER in the human brain!
If you DO things that make you happy, you can keep yourself from feeling frightened.
Right now is a great time to share creativity, talents, and smiles. Everyone can learn from the following recent examples:
An 87-year-old woman is teaching tai-chi by Zoom classes | Neighbors are collecting goods to share with their communities |
Frank & Dean (and other entertainers) are sharing their talents for free online | People who know how to sew are making masks for healthcare workers |
Do the simple things you CAN do!
Fear, stress, lack of activity, overeating, and eating sugary processed foods simply lower your immunity. You’ve heard these things before, but maybe now is a good time to start:
- Eat healthy foods
- Exercise
- Lose weight if needed
- Eat real foods, not processed foods
- Get outdoors
- And… don’t believe everything you hear!
Reach out and touch someone… by phone, email, or text!
If you’re feeling lonely, call someone to brighten their day. It’s a great time to make a call list and work it daily.
And get going on the projects you always said you would do someday because SOMEDAY just arrived!
“When you’re smiling the whole world smiles with you.”
Louis Armstrong

Excellent article. It is tiring and depressing being around negative people. You are right. You can/must choose to be happy. No one/nothing can make you happy. You must choose that for yourself. Excellent article !!!
This is a great piece Kathryn. Good reminders. And well said. I have some friends I will definitely forward to.
