You CAN be the best gift!
You are now CHALLENGED to turn every conversation to a positive direction!
If a conversation goes to poor health, crime, poverty, or any negative subject that includes sadness, anger, or trepidation about the future, you can CHANGE it!
Here are some examples:
A friend says: “This weather stinks. It’s so cold out.”
You can answer: “It’s cold but I found that if I bundle up and go outside anyway, it’s not bad! It’s all about being dressed warmly! Have you noticed the birds outside at this time of year? I love seeing blue jays in the wintertime!”
A friend says: “I’m so worried about the economy collapsing.”
You can answer: “People are so resilient! I love knowing that humans always find ways to be creative in order to turn things around. I like to think that people are in a big learning curve right now. I know I have learned a lot this year. How about you? Tell me something good that you are working on right now?”
A friend says: “I’m afraid of being sick!”
You can answer: “I like to think about everything we can do to make ourselves healthy instead of worrying about the future. I’ve been enjoying new healthy recipes and I walk three times a week. What are you doing to feel healthy? Do you want to walk with me this week?”

In that case, here are some MORE CHALLENGES for you!
- Make an uplifting phone call to someone who might need it!
- Write a heartfelt letter of gratitude to someone who has touched your heart in the past.
- Make an anonymous donation that will help others live better.
- Use your imaginative gifts to be creative: paint, draw, work with wood, plant indoors, or anything that gets your mind going in a good direction!
- Make a list of people you love (or don’t even like!) and pray for them to be their best selves. In your mind, envision them as healthy and happy!
