When is the last time YOU really had fun – where you felt lighthearted, excited, were laughing out loud, and feeling fully alive in the moment?
A group of 12 active adults, ranging in age from 75 to 95, attended a bowling and pizza party at Main Event. This immense, sparkly, and fun entertainment center has bowling, laser tag, video games, shuffleboard and an adventure course with gravity ropes up above it all.
Although a few people walked into this bright and colorful location using canes or walkers, bowling was accessible to all with the bowling assist ramps that were made available to the group. It was delightful to see that even those who couldn’t throw the ball could still participate in bowling! And then, the group was royally treated to beverages and platters of pizza.
After a lively lunch, one of the women surprised everyone when she asked if she could go up on the gravity ropes. She was asked, “Are you serious?”
She confirmed that she really was, and her friend next to her said she wanted to try it, too. Then, a man said he would do it, so… Main Event made it happen!
Everyone was hooked into safety harnesses, then climbed up the steps to test balance and agility on the swaying rope bridges, balancing planks, and zip line, while the remainder of the group watched and cheered from below.
The event was described as challenging, a bit frightening, and at the same time, exhilarating!
Bowling was a good time, but the gravity ropes were definitely FUN.

Christmas Greetings and a Happy New Year to you and your entire family!
I REALLY enjoyed the interview with Hazel Chapman! She is a rare and precious friend to my entire family! She was there for my family when we lost my niece to domestic violence! It would be a good thing to do a follow up show with her again !🎩
Being afraid of heights, and being 81, walking on ropes almost 20′ in the air was I dare say, a bit of a challenge. It does seem like its been a while since I took on a real challenge. Combine fear, excitement, not knowing if you can do it, just all kinds of feelings all at once, and it barely explains what it was like for me up there. Honestly almost a week has passed and I’m still in “LETS ROLL” mode. By the way, it was safe to do, but that didn’t effect the experience at all. Be Safe, and at the same do crazy stuff, its now or never.
Love your great inspiring attitude! Enjoy every moment to the fullest!
I know I wouldn’t go up on the high gravity ropes, but I would be a great cheerleader!
You’ve always been a great encourager! But, I think if you were there you might have done it, too!
