It settles your brain.
Have you ever had a problem falling asleep because your mind was busy making a list of everything that needed to be done the next day?
The Zeigarnik Effect has proven since the early 1900s that we tend to remember uncompleted tasks and projects but when they’re finished, the mind releases them.
The solution?
Write down everything you need to do and remember before trying to sleep and your mind lets them go… and allows for better sleep.
Solutions may even come to you while sleeping!
Make writing a habit and you won’t miss a thing. Plus, you’ll put your brainpower to better use.
You’ll focus better and can be mindful of each task at hand. Your brain can process more efficiently with less to remember.
As you write your list, the brain is focused on organizing. The stress of having to retain so much is gone. It declutters the brain.
Writing things down is like turning off a switch and the brain dump creates better sleep.
Write down more than your to-do list. Include anything you’re worried about, any needs or wants, questions or ideas. You can label or organize by urgency and priority at the same time.
Jotting down your list is powerful and it only takes a few minutes, so why not try it!
You may find some new insights, too. Perhaps things aren’t as important the next day.
Do you have better clarity throughout the day? Do you feel more in control of your life?
Try it for at least a few days or weeks to improve your sleep.
Write THIS down on your list so you don’t forget…
Sleep is VITAL to your wellbeing!
